Katy Perry Apparent Teases ‘Very Soon’ New Music.

There might be new songs from Katy Perry. The American Idol judge discussed singing at King Charles III’s forthcoming coronation and getting to stay at Windsor Castle during a recent interview with Extra. “I’m really thrilled… I may write frequently since I will actually be in a castle, she warned. “This is crazy,”

However, Perry responded to the revelation that she is the first artist to have seven videos exceed a billion views on Vevo later on in the conversation. “I’ve always had incredibly huge ambitions, and I’ve never put any restrictions on them, but it’s amazing how large dreams can actually get when you don’t put bowling bumpers on them… I really believe that you should work hard to make things happen before swinging for the fences and hoping for the best. Perry seemed to promise new music as a way of saying thanks to her followers for their support. She promised her supporters that she would soon fulfil their expectations.

At the height of the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, Perry released her final studio album, Smile. The “Teenage Dream” singer has been keeping busy ever since, continuing to serve as a judge on the singing competition programme American Idol in addition to her residency in Las Vegas. Despite being a part of the programme for six seasons, viewers have taken notice of Perry’s criticisms and responses this season on social media. Fans have also drawn comparisons between Perry’s treatment of American Idol candidates and Trya’s famous elimination speeches from her reality competition programme America’s Next Top Model online. In an amusing TikTok earlier this month, the two shocked their fans by working together!

On March 1, Katy shared audio of isolated vocals on her Instagram stories. Thankfully, a fan recorded the audio and shared it on Twitter. The song’s lyrics, which are heard in the excerpt and are identical to those of her most recent hit, “Chained to the Rhythm” (which debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 4), are as follows: The singer can be heard singing in the clip, “I won’t, no, I won’t apologize/I won’t, won’t subscribe/Don’t ask me, ask me to normalise.”

The 11 seconds of vocals seem to suggest that Katy is indeed working on her fifth studio album, which will be her first since 2013’s Prism. It marks the beginning of her era of “purposeful pop,” as she puts it. Before the 2017 Grammys, Katy told Ryan Seacrest, “It’s just…songs that start conversations, and I think that’s what we need more than ever.” The new song, with its powerful vocals, and “Chained to the Rhythm” both adhere to the pop-with-a-purpose philosophy.
